The Swedish luxury SUV will be the country’s first hybrid SUV
What is there not to like about the Volvo Xc90? The luxury SUV is one of the most popular vehicles in the segment and it is easy to understand why. The XC90 has got the looks, the performance and also decent fuel economy ratings.
The only problem with the XC90 today is that it is no longer offered with a V8 engine. The XC90 is part of Volvo’s downsizing program hence it will only run on a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.
However, new rumours have surfaced and they are claiming that Volvo is going to offer a V8 engine with the XC90 Facelift. The word is that the XC90 V8 will be a special edition model and it will see the vehicle having 400hp to offer.
Well, rumours are meant to be taken with a grain of salt and this is because the above is unlikely to come true. We learned that the rumours are just a ricochet of the 2011 XC90 V8 video which went viral earlier today. The clip basically shows the XC90 producing some nice growls with a V8 engine.
