Mark Zuckerberg will demonstrate his jarvis next month.
Is Mark Zuckerberg the new Tony Stark? He will be, if his AI assistant is anything like he says it is. The Facebook CEO is planning to give a demo of his pet AI project, which he says, responds only to his voice and controls everything in his home.
Zuckerberg revealed he wanted to make an AI capable of controlling his home as part of his annual ‘personal challenge’. The AI will be able to control temperature, lights and even help him in his professional work. During a live Facebook town hall Q&A session from Rome, Zuckerberg said he is ready to give a demo, hopefully by next month.
“I got it to this point where now I can control the lights, I can control the gates, I can control the temperature — much to the chagrin of my wife, who now cannot control the temperature because it is programmed to only listen to my voice,” Zuckerberg said.
“It’s starting to be able to do some pretty fun things, and I’m looking forward to being able to show it to the world,” he added.
The Facebook CEO believes and even expects artificial intelligence to outperform humans within the next decade. But if obeying basic household commands is all that this can do, it isn’t much different than Amazon’s Echo or Samsung’s SmartThings. Will there be newer features to tinkle with and drool about, that remains to be seen when Zuckerberg actually demonstrates his Jarvis.
